FIBRE & FRUIT WEEK: Nourish to Flourish!

In support of SDG 3: Good Health and Well Being, the HSE Department proudly launches Fibre & Fruit Week a weeklong campaign to promote healthier living through the power of fruits and fibre.

This week, we’re shining the spotlight on pumpkins!

Pumpkins are rich in fibre and packed with essential vitamins and antioxidants that promote overall wellness. They help support digestion, improve vision, boost immunity, lower blood pressure, promote heart health and even help you sleep better.

With about 1.1g of fibre per 100g, pumpkins also aid in weight management and maintaining healthy skin.

Naturally sweet and versatile, pumpkins can be enjoyed in soups, roasted dishes, desserts, or blended into smoothies a perfect way to add colour, flavour and nutrients to your meals!

Each day will feature simple tips, fun facts and mini challenges to encourage everyone to enjoy more pumpkins and stay healthy.
