HSE TOOLBOX TALK: ERGONOMIC AWARENESS
On 23 December 2025, an Ergonomic Awareness session was successfully conducted and delivered by Assoc. Prof. Ts. Dr. Sa’ardin Abdul Aziz, Deputy Director of the OSHE Section, UTM Kuala Lumpur, from the Faculty of Artificial Intelligence (FAI).
The session focused on the importance of designing work tasks, workstations and working environments that align with the capabilities and limitations of the human body. The objective was to enhance comfort, efficiency and productivity while reducing the risk of musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs), including back pain, neck strain, shoulder discomfort and repetitive stress injuries.
Participants were guided on maintaining proper posture, using suitable furniture and equipment, taking regular breaks and practising safe working methods to minimise physical strain and fatigue during daily work activities. Emphasis was also placed on the early identification of discomfort and the importance of taking prompt corrective actions to prevent long-term injuries.
Promoting ergonomic awareness in the workplace contributes to a healthier workforce, safer operations and improved overall performance, supporting long-term employee well-being and organisational efficiency.
This initiative supports:
